These are the first ones we have ever had available and the first ones we have seen for sale.
The tubes are unmarked which is common with this particular cannon.

The carriages were made by an associate of Marshall Steen.  Steen and the Paulson Brothers are the two premier makers of Civil War cannon carriages in the USA.  The carriages are prairie type and are made of oak.  The original US Patent Office blueprints were used and they were just completed this month and are of museum quality.

General information on the British 3 inch bronze Armstrong Cannons:

The Armstrong was a large rifled cannon invented by an Englishman, Sir William George Armstrong, in 1854.  It was made in both muzzle-loading and breech-loading designs and came in sizes ranging from three to 13.3 inches, with the three-inch size being the most popular. The 3-inch muzzle-loading Armstrong's fired a grooved projectile which weighed 12 pounds out to a distance of 2,200 yards with an elevation of 5 degrees.
