We are currently able to offer these very fine solid teak wood field cannon carriages for a very limited time while the supply lasts.  Only fifteen available - all located in Kentucky for immediate delivery or FREE pick-up.  We can arrange reasonable delivery in the USA or can also arrange shipping overseas for multiple purchases.

These are suitable for cannons from 36 to 52 inches in length and possibly longer.  They are NOT for live fire, but for display purposes only!

These can be custom made for your cannon it two ways.  The "Antiqued" version on the left is all new wood and hardware that has been treated to look like an original antique.  The "Antique" type on the right uses "old" hardware and fitting as well as "old" wood where ever possible.  Contact us for a quote on your cannon or for one of these carriages for a cannon you are purchasing from us. We can build any size naval carriage for you!

Bronze & Iron Naval Cannon Carriage Plans/Blueprints!
Build your own full size - half scale or any size cannon carriage with these!

After MANY MANY requests we have acquired full building blueprints for both 24 and 32 pounder Naval Cannon Carriages. These are done in the 1" to 1 ft. scale with all measurements and can easily be adapted for other size cannons. Measurements on the plans are for both full and half size cannon carriages! They can, of course, be scaled down for models or any other size.

This sale is for one set of plans for either the 24 pounder or the 32 pounder (Your choice!). They are mailed folded by International Air Mail.

Additional Information:

The full size 32 pounder cannon weighs 3.5 tones - 2.75 tones for the gun barrel and 0.75 tones for the wooden gun carriage. It fired a 32 pound (14.7Kg) ball, usually propelled by an 11 pound (5Kg) gunpowder charge giving a muzzle velocity of 1600 feet per second (487 meters per second). Fired from the lower gun deck, with the muzzles some 2m above the waterline, this gave a point blank (fired flat) range of approximately 1000 feet (300m).

Bronze & Iron Civil War Field Cannon Carriage Plans!

After MANY requests we have acquired the full building blueprints for the Civil War 6 Pounder Field Carriage and had them redrawn for our customers. These are exact copies of the actual drawings showing exact dimensions and sizes of the Federal 6 pounder cannon carriage. The second sheet gives all the dimensions and sizes of the metal fittings and the wheels.  Measurements on the plans are for full size cannon carriages! They can, of course, be scaled down for models or any other size scale cannon.  They do not include the building plans for the wheels, but they are shown.

  

This sale is for one set (2 sheets) of plans for the six pounder. They are mailed folded by International Air Mail to anywhere in the world. The photos are similar carriages made from these plans.

British 7 Pounder Cannon Wheels

These cannon wheels, tires and spokes had the brass hubs removed for the scrap value. Now fitted with new made Brass plated steel Hubs and secured by original 19th century style bolts.  The wheel diameter is 36" and is of substantial construction being over 65 lbs each in weight. Correctly fitted with 12 spokes. these are in a good condition bearing in mind that they are well over 100 years of age. The wheels come un-cleaned but the quality is obvious. These can be fitted to many varieties of tapered axle carriages and are ideal to complete a cannon display. They are offered as a pair only.

Hand Carved Ironwood

  

We are currently having these hand carved - hardwood display stands for Lantakas and all other types of swivel cannons made for us in Southeast Asia.  They are available in five sizes to fit anything from an eight inch miniature up to a six foot cannon!  The Medium size is shown above with a 26 inch Lantaka.

Custom Built Mahogany Cannon Carriages

We currently have a number of custom made cannon carriages that are constructed from very hard and heavy Asian Red Mahogany (Meranti).  At this time we are only making ship type/garrison carriages  - like these and the hand carved and Mahogany Lantaka rail cannon display stands shown below. They come complete with the Quoin (Wedge) for elevation. They can be made for any size cannon and can be furnished as completed carriages with all hardware or just the complete Mahogany wooden parts.  Prices start at only $295 for a "wood only" kit and $495 for a completed carriage.  Some "work in progress" photos here show a carriage for 38 inch Portuguese cannons and completed carriages for a 48" Dutch VOC cannon.  ALL hardware and assembly bolts are stainless steel or brass!  This 24 inch long size weighs in at 75 lbs.!   The brass trunnion caps are included, but not shown in these "photos" as they are usually fitted by the customer when the cannon is available.  Sorry - the "kits" are out of stock until late 2010.

Please note: We have closed our current carriage production facility and we will not be able to make any custom naval carriages in our SE Asia facility.  We have also sold out of all "stock" sizes now.  This does not affect the custom "Antiqued" carriages that are made in Seattle, Washington below as the are still available, as are ALL sizes of cannon display stands (But some are currently out of stock!).

The pair above are for 48" Dutch VOC cannons and cost only $695 each - complete. They are made from 3 inch thick heavy hardwood. A complete wood kit for this same carriage is $395.  These completed carriages weigh 77 kilos each  (170 lbs. of solid Mahogany)!  Contact us for pricing on any size or type cannon carriage!
